B.C. actually has a lot of strong tenant laws and free resources—the real problem is awareness. Too many Whistler renters get pushed around by landlords who have time, money, or experience, while tenants don’t know the rules or deadlines. WARU encourages every renter to learn their rights and use the tools available the moment you suspect bad-faith behaviour. This is quietly rampant in Whistler; our union exists to even things out by pointing you to official help and organizing your stories into policy change. (This page is information, not legal advice.)
