Renters are essential to Whistler’s economy and community, yet our voices are underrepresented in decisions shaping the town’s future. Too many of us juggle multiple jobs and high housing costs, leaving little time or capacity to track complex policies or show up at meetings. Meanwhile, well-resourced interests (property owners) routinely dominate consultations.
We’re organizing to change that. Our goals are simple: more secure, affordable homes; fair enforcement; and transparent, data-driven decisions. Whistler’s own Interim Housing Needs Report identifies 1,572 homes needed in the next five years and 5,639 over twenty—we will hold council to meeting those targets through zoning, approvals, and budgets.
We will:
Attend and speak at every relevant RMOW meeting.
Publish weekly explainers so renters can act.
Submit evidence-based proposals that align OCP and zoning with the Interim HNR.
Elevate renter stories to ensure policy reflects real lives.
Renters keep this town moving; we're not going to tolerate what the status quo has become anymore. They will hear us.
